Shirley M. Gillespie

Shirley passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Saginaw at the age of 89. The daughter of the late Daniel and Alma (Kukkonen) Knaub was born December 18, 1936 in Bay City, Michigan. Shirley loved the outdoors, watching deer, turkeys and birds in the yard. She also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, knitting, quilting, bowling, blooper ball, watching the amazing blue on Saturdays and the Lions on Sundays, but most of all she loved her family and grandchildren.

Shirley is survived by her children, Dan (Kathy) Gillespie, Tammy (Randy) Long, Judy (Ron) Becker and Janet Gillespie; grandchildren, Katie, Melissa, Ashley, Adam, Troy, Keri, Ronnie, Alisha and Dylan; nine great grandchildren; one sister, Judy; Brothers-in-law, Bob Gillespie and Jim (Lou) Gillespie; sister-in-law, Janet Knaub and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Gillespie; two brothers, Bill Knaub and Dick Knaub; sisters-in-law, Gloria Misiak, Marge Gillespie, Charlotte Wanless, Corky Gillespie, Fran Knaub and Sandy Gillespie and her brothers-in-law, John Gillespie, Ray, Dick Misiak, Paul Gillespie, Ray Gillespie and Ronnie Wanless.

Funeral and Committal services will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be E.J. Brown. Private interment will take place at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
