Shirley passed away peacefully, Friday, September 28, 2018 at her residence at the age of 88 years. We will long for her wonderful smile and witty charm, yet know that she will be happy in heaven. We take comfort in the knowledge that mom will be reunited with her husband, our dad, Gordon (Tony) Gray; her parents, Edward and Lena Legner; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward (Cle) and Delores Legner, Kenneth (Ken) and Mary Jane Legner; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Calvin (Cal) and Erma Gray; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Dorian and Floyd Michalsky. We love the thought of them all together again.
We envision the ultimate Euchre game. She and grandma Lena will run the table. Uncle Cle will be discussing the rules of the game. Uncle Ken will be telling jokes. Dad will be saving his trump for a rainy day. She has gone home.
Mom is survived by her children, Bonnie and Christopher Houghtaling of Au Gres, Paul and Michelle Lexmond Gray of Marquette, Heather and James Grant of Gladwin, Ken and Ranee Gray of Kawkawlin and Norma and James Princinsky of Au Gres; she also leaves behind many wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Never would she leave you without a hug, a kiss or an "I love you".
Her church family was also very important to her. She was a choir member and collections counter at St. James Catholic Church in Bay City. She was a past member of the Legion of Mary and volunteer preparing food for funerals.
Memorial Liturgy will take place at All Saints Parish - St. James Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2018. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Jose M. Cabrera. Friends may visit at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Mom gave to many charities throughout her life. She would love for you to contribute to the charity that warms your heart and remember her fondly. The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice of west Branch and Hospice Helping Hands of Gladwin. Special thanks to Heather and Jim Grant, Melissa, Frances and Win for their care and support.
