Shirley A. Newsham

Mrs. Newsham passed away Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Bay Shores Nursing Home at the age of 82 years. The daughter of the late Leonard and Winifred (Rivette) Ausem was born November 23, 1930 in Bay City. She attended Marywood Academy in Grand Rapids MI. Mrs. Newsham was a lifelong Democrat, a life member of the Democratic Party, very involved in politics and involved in the Civil Air Patrol. She enjoyed doing genealogy, writing poems and stories. She is survived by her children and their spouses; Bill and Cheryl Newsham, Tim and Juana Newsham, Rich and Cathy Newsham, Bill and Mary Kay Janiskee, Dennis Newsham and Caleb Rohn, her grandchildren; Matt, Lisa (Dean) Petrosky, Jenny, Sarah, Nick, Brett, Debbie, Jeremy (Faith) Newsham, Joshua, Annette, Joe, Alex, Kevin, Kalvin, Kayla (Andy) Ledesma, her great grandchildren; Zack, Kolby, Denzell, Destini, Olivia, Kianna, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Demond, Harmony, Tucker, Audrey, Gavyn, Troy, Madysen, Emma and Dante. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; William Newsham, son; Paul, daughter; Katherine and grandson; Billy. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Monday, February 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Craig L. Albrecht with cremation following. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Newsham will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
