Shirley passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at her granddaughter's residence at the age of 93 years. She was born in Manistee, Michigan on June 5, 1929 to the late Alvin and Christine (Nielsen) Anderson. On June 5, 1948 she married Harlen E. Reetz and he preceded her in death along with her daughter, Evelynan Pawlicki. Shirley worked in Bay City at both Mays Clothing and Sarrets Clothing stores. She also worked in Grand Haven at Grand Haven Jewelry and had her realtor's license. Shirley was a huge part of the community at Liberty Woods where she lived for over 20 years and was involved in many of the activities. She was also a member of Spring Lake First Presbyterian Church.
Shirley is survived by her children, Wayne (Renee) Reetz, William "Bill" (Constance) Reetz and Susan (Peter) Leavens; son-in-law, Joseph Pawlicki; grandchildren, Dena Pawlicki, Jenna Jo Pawlicki (Adam Kander), Kristen (John) Sheets, Brett Reetz (Brandee Bennett), Carol  (Doug) Hartley, Christopher Reetz, Shannon (Mark) Schmidt and Joel (Michelle) Leavens; great grandchildren, Walker Reetz, Josh Hartley, Casie Hartley (Josh Galonska), Cory Hartley (Alyssa Cavanaugh), Julia Schmidt, Angela Leavens (Nick Barwick) and Garret Leavens; great great grandchildren, Camdon Barwick and Colton Hartley and sister-in-law, Edith Anderson. Shirley was preceded in death by her brother, Clayton "Manny" Anderson and sister, Agnes "Midge" (Bubba) Coppernoll.
Funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, January 13, 2023 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Private burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery, Manistee, Michigan. Friends and family will be present to receive visitors on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
