Stella C. Girou

Girou, Stella C. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Girou loving mother, grandmother went to heaven to be with the lord on Friday, May 28, 2010 at the Carriage House Nursing Home. She was born August 26, 1914 in Ohio and has resided in this area most of her life. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the League of Catholic men and Women and the Senior Citizens Group. She was preceded in death by her husband; Michael Girou, one daughter; Audrey Cornell, one son; Danny Girou, her parents; John and Mary Verbowski, her brothers and her sisters; Frank, Joseph and Steve Verbowski, Anna Downey, Rose Priestley, Julia Narlock. Surviving are her children; Edward Girou, Nancy (Gary) Joslin, Robert (Beth) Girou and Thomas Girou, fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; her sisters; Lucille Coyer. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy trinity Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Girou will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
