The Rev. Keith N. Schroeder

The Rev. Keith N. Schroeder passed away Thursday, March 25, 2021 at his residence at the age of 76 years. He was born in Watertown, Wisconsin on February 6, 1945. Keith was baptized on February 19, 1945 and confirmed on May 26, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church. On August 10, 1968 he married the former Hedy P. Weiss at St Paul Lutheran Church in Neosho, Wisconsin and they were married for 52 years. Keith was Pastor of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Minneapolis from 1971-1978 and then Bethel Lutheran Church, Bay City from 1978-2010.
Pastor Keith is survived by his wife, Hedy; children, Christina (David) Broekhuizen, Jonathan (Jenny) Schroeder, Matthew (Kara) Schroeder and Sarah (Todd) Priem; grandchildren, Tyler, Cole, Logan and Jake Broekhuizen, Keith (Megan), Justin, Emily, Alexandra, Ava, Caleb and Lauren Schroeder, Samantha and Joshua Priem; brothers, Rev. Neal (Marilyn), Rev. Joel (Ruth) and Rev. Mark (Andrea) Schroeder; sisters, Joyce (Dan) Feuerstahler and Jean (Rev. James) Westendorf; sisters-in-law, LeeAnn Schroeder, Rachel Schroeder and Sandra (Rev. Tom) Spiegelberg; brother-in-law, Professor Gareth Schmeling and thirty five nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Rev. Kent Schroeder and Rev. Lynn Schroeder.
Funeral and committal service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 29, 2021 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with cremation following the service. Friends may visit at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.  We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing and limited to 25 visitors in the chapel at one time. You may experience a wait while paying your respects, face coverings must be worn. Pastor Schroeder will be taken to the church to lie in state on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service.
