Thomas passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022, from dementia at Brian's House at the age of 72 years. He was born in Saginaw on December 29, 1949, to the late Donald and Beatrice (Pruetter) Wendt. Thomas was baptized and raised in the Lutheran religion. On April 3, 1970, he married the former Janet Johnroe and they were married for 52 years. Thomas worked for many years at Freds Auto Salvage in Saginaw. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, Harley Davidsons, collecting cookie jars, cats and doing home improvements.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Janet; daughter, Heather Rozich; son, Donald (Lakeisha Washington) Wendt; grandchildren, Zachary Rozich, Garrett Rozich, Grace Rozich and Donald (Alliyah) Wendt; one great grandchild on the way in June; brother, Roger (Lola) Wendt; sisters, Sue (Ed) Masters and Pamela VanWormer; brothers and sisters-in-law, Linda (Keith) Perry, Michael (Dotti) Johnroe, Kathy Reid, Lori Johnroe and Gerald (Sherry) Johnroe and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law, Gerald and Marie Johnroe and brothers-in-law, David Johnroe, Brian Johnroe and John Reid.
Cremation has taken place, visitation will be held on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home. Contributions may be made to the wishes of the family. For online condolences visit
