Veldora I. Forster

Mrs. Forster passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 90. The daughter of the late Erwin and Emma (Weiss) Schlicker was born February 17, 1933 in Bay City, Michigan. Veldora was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor and the Friendship Guild. She enjoyed collecting angels, bowling, going to the casino, gardening, working in her flower beds, cooking, baking, participating in the Senior Special Olympics, playing pinochle, putting puzzles together and helping her family with remodeling projects.

Veldora is survived by her husband, Leroy Forster, whom she married on April 25, 1953; four children, Karen (James) Phillips, Alan (Beth) Forster, Dennis Forster and Lori (Michael Jr.) Royer; eight grandchildren, Robert (Brittany) Phillips, Ryan Phillips, Richard (Bridget) Phillips, Rachel (Erik) Wesslen, Jessica (Robert) Stothard, Angela (Lorenzo) Rios, Melissa Forster and Kaitlyn Royer and her fiancé, Logan Kokaly; eleven great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Schlicker; two sisters, Lorna Bills and Kathleen Doud and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Hine and two brothers, Ronald Schlicker and Larry Schlicker.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor with Committal following in Lutheran Home Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor Building Fund will be available at the funeral home.
