Mr. Trombley passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI at the age of 83. The son of the late Vernon and Marina (Sutter) Trombley was born August 22, 1928 in Bay City, MI. Mr. Trombley was retired from the U.S. Air Force as a technical sergeant and he received the following campaign metals: Air Medal with 5 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Good Conduct Medal with 4 Bronze Loops, American Campaign Medal, Air Forces Expeditionary Medal, W.W. II Victory Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal with 1 Bronze Service Star, Korean Service Medal, Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Longevity Service Award with 4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, United Nations Service Medal. He attended St. Mary the Assumption Catholic Church. Mr. Trombley was a member of the Knights of Columbus, V.F.W. and enjoyed traveling, swimming and walking. He is survived by his daughter: Debra K. Trombley-Zarazua and her husband; Pedro Zarazua of Bay City, his sister; Shirley A. Gorney of Bay City, M and many nieces and nephews, his special friends; Bert and Becky LeVasseur of Wauchula, FL. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister and brother and law: Evelyn and Dale Theaker. At the request of Mr. Trombley cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Friday, June 15, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Sister Mary Epple followed by Military Honor's conducted by the U.S. Air Force and the Bay County Veterans Council. Inurnment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
