Violet R. Cole

Mrs. Cole passed away early Wednesday morning, April 20, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 89 years. The daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Dickhausen) Schmidt was born December 27, 1926 in Bay City, Michigan. She was a member of Faith Church of the Nazarene. Mrs. Cole worked at Arlan's Department Store for ten years. She enjoyed camping and playing cards. Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Pam (Bill) Carlson and Harold "Harry" Cole; her stepsons, Mark (Mary) Sieggreen; Larry Sieggreen, three step-daughters, Pam (Larry) Korbin, Cindy (Marc) Fitzgerald and Dawn (Ron) Poole; her step-daughter-in-law, Renee; seventeen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Mary Schmidt; her close friend, Marie Schroeder. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Cole and they were married August 9, 1947 and he passed away in 1990; her second husband, Donald and they were married in 1993, one sister, Esther Keyes; one brother; Martin Schmidt; her stepson, Jeffrey Sieggreen. The family would express a Thank you for the wonderful care she received from everyone at McLaren Bay Region and Bayfield Assisted Living, Dr. Potts, Dr. Chevali and Dr. Nazrallah and a special thank you to Wendy Shorkey for all of her help. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Dwight Kingsbury with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services to receive family and friends.
