Walter E. Neumeyer

Neumeyer, Walter E. of Bay City, Michigan passed away Sunday June 10, 2012 at McLaren- Bay Region. Age 85 years. The son of the late Albert and Augusta (Piering) Neumeyer was born June 22, 1926 in Bay City, Michigan. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the L.F.A.. Walt retired from Jennison Hardware Co. and worked for many years at Sandy's Flowers as a deliveryman. He enjoyed gardening and baking for his family. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law; Barbara Insley of Bay City and Beverly and Tom Dagneau of Bay City, six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one sister and one brother-in-law; Harriet and Jerry Kukulis, two brothers and three sisters-in-law; Martin and Yvonne Neumeyer, Norman and Donna Neumeyer and Ardith Neumeyer and many nieces and nephews. On September 8, 1951 he married the former Bernice L. Hachtel and she preceded him in death on February 24, 2000, one son-in-law; Joseph Insley, one brother; Oscar Neumeyer and one sister and brother-in-law; Florence and Wyman Lapworth. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday, June 14, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church 510 W. Ivy St. Bay City, MI 48706. Officiating will be Rev. William H. Allwardt with private burial in Fremont Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Wednesday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m.. Mr. Neumeyer will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 12:30 p.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for the "Wishes of the Family" will be available.
