Walter J. Schrenk

Mr. Schrenk passed away on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region. Age 85 years. The son of the late Walter and Elsa (Braunscweiger) Schrenk was born February 12, 1933 in Toledo, Ohio. Mr. Schrenk was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and traveling. Mr. Schrenk received a bachelor's degree from U of M, he was a member of the National Academy of Engineering, American Society for Mechanical Engineers, lifetime member of the SPE and served on the church council.

Mr. Schrenk is survived by his wife, Joyce T. Schrenk whom he married on December 22, 1984; six children, Lisa Burnside, Karen (Randy) Joseph, Karen (Theodore) Bullinger, Nadine (William) Dahlquist, Dawn Troike Reno and Bryan Troike; 15 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and three special cousins, Heidi Hanke, Jochen Bauer and Walter "Herb" (Ann) Hagen. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his infant son, David Thomas Schrenk and one grandson, Derek Reno.

Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe with private interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. John's ministerial education trust fund or St. John's LES trust fund will be available at the funeral home.
