William "Bill" E. Jones

Bill passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his residence with his family by his side at the age of 67 years. Bill was born in Saginaw on September 13, 1953 to Buddy and Doris (Nichols) Jones. He married the mother of his children Karen Kaufman in 1981 and she passed away in May of 1988.  He worked for General Motors for 30 years retiring in 2010. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, motorcycles, deer hunting, playing euchre, fishing, teasing people and U of M sports.
Bill is survived by his wife, the love of his life, Dorine; children, Marsha (Jason) Jones, Justin (Maria) Jones, Jason (Heather) Jones and Toni (Brandon) Claerhout; grandchildren, Isaac Jones, Ramona Cerda, Boston Jones, Alexandria Minnock, Joshua Minnock, Rebekah Jones and Amelia Jones; mother, Doris Jones; sister, Debbie (John) Urbanowski, Sharon (Mike) Mannion and Linda (Tom) Pabis; brother, Mike Jones; in-laws, Debbie Meyer, Jamie (Kevin) Reivert, Jackie (Dean) Zubkoff and Emil Claerhout; mother-in-law, Lorraine Claerhout and many nieces, nephews and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Bud Jones.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Gephart Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. For those planning on attending the visitation the family asks that you wear your U of M attire to honor Bill. We are currently still under the governor's executive order of social distancing and limited to 25 visitors in the chapel at one time. You may experience a wait while paying your respects, face coverings must be worn. Contribution can be made to the wishes of the family.
