William Harold Wald Jr.

William H Wald Jr. was a loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend, and his passing leaves a profound void in our hearts. William went home to be with the Lord on June 9th, 2023.

William was born in Bay City, Michigan on April 7th 1957. He was the first born of 4 children of Patricia and William H Wald Sr. and a big brother to Eric J Swinehart of Patricia and Alan Swinehart.

William was survived at the time of his passing by his beloved mother Patricia (Krantz)Wald, sisters; Michele (John) Parisson and Susan (James) Kelley, two brothers; Jeffrey Wald and Eric (Jessie) Swinehart, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

William graduated from Garber High school and went on to pursue his dreams which included the theater, travels with his Mother to far away places and being an active integral member of the Miss Bay County Scholarship program.

William fought battles for many years with scleroderma and cancer with courage, grace, and an unwavering spirit. He never complained or gave up hope, even during the most difficult times. His strength and determination inspired us all. He didn’t waste a minute of the precious life he was given.

He was a man of many talents and interests. He loved spending time with his family, He enjoyed 30 cruises and a trip overseas with his Mother to see the Crown Jewels, Versailles and other treasured destinations.

He loved all things Disney and made many trips to the magic kingdom and if you needed a tour guide, Bill knew exactly where and when to go.

He had a contagious laugh and a warm smile that could brighten anyone's day.

In his early years, Bill worked for Sempliners formal wear and enjoyed working on the bridal world productions. Bill spent many years volunteering at the Bay City Players a theater group; it was a passion of his. He acted, built sets and ran the lights for the shows.

Somewhere along his journey of life Bill became extremely talented at floral arrangements. He was often called on by friends and family to help with bridal flowers and design concepts because he was so talented.

Bill had impeccable taste, a brilliant mind, a quick wit and a loving spirit. He was someone that you could count on. You could be sure that if he said he could do it, he did it with style!

But above all, Bill was a kind and compassionate person. He was always there for his family and friends, ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear.

His battle with cancer may have taken his life, but it will never take his spirit. His legacy will live on in the memories we cherish, the values he instilled in us, and the love he shared so generously.

Bill would want us to remember him not with sadness, but with joy. He would want us to carry on his life with laughter, kindness, and a sense of adventure. “It’s the little things” and “The show must go on!”

At the request of William’s mother Patricia, although cremation took place just after his passing, she desired that we wait until a later time to make a formal announcement. The family will hold a private memorial for both William and his Mother who has now passed. They will be buried side by side at a later date.

If you would like to make a donation in Bills honor, his favorite passions were the Miss Bay County Scholarship Program, The Bay City Players and St. Jude’s Cancer Center for Children.
